There Was Much Interruption
These works are from the series There Was Much Interruption (2015), exhibited at Hollybush Gardens, London, and the Museum of African Diaspora, San Francisco (2017). The digital abstract images and concrete text originate in residencies that took place simultaneously in Northern France and Lancashire. They explore issues of land ownership, labour and industry, and landscape.
Ingrid Pollard comes from a community arts background. Narrative and storytelling play an important aspect in her work as does the materiality of photographic process.
